Aire & Calder closed again

WOODNOOK Lock on the Wakefield Branch of the Aire & Calder Navigation is out of action again.

This is the second time this has been closed in the past two weeks, with the first repair being temporary, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Damage

The repair it seems has been too temporary, as it failed again yesterday (Sunday) but we are now told by Canal & River Trust that the closure is due to damage.
