IT WAS boater Mike Schofield from Lytham St Anne's who has won the competition open to British Waterway Marina Ltd (BWML) moorers of a free year's boating that included his moorings, boat licence, insurance and even a £300 chandlery voucher.

He is making the most of his winnings with a cruise on the Llangollen Canal to visit the Eisteddfod—as seen in the photograph.

Prize worth £4,500

The prize, courtesy of BWML, is worth £4,500, and the winning ticket was drawn from 1,990 entrants by Richard Parry, Chief Executive Officer of Canal & River Trust and Rod Grant, Head of Retail for BWML.

BWML launched the competition to mark its tenth year of supporting Crick Show. Mike has received 12 months leisure mooring at a BWML marina worth up to £3,000, a boat licence fee to the value of £1,000, one year's boat insurance to the value of £300 and a chandlery/diesel voucher worth £200.
