THOUGH a moorer at Lee Valley Marina complained about the closing of the club house (Hiked fees but less facilities at Springfield) that is owned by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority and managed by Vibrant Partnerships, Bill Moran, Head of Venues at Vibrant Partnerships, writes:

We had a meeting with committee members from the Springlea Cruising Club, and it was mutually agreed that the licence at the clubhouse would not be renewed due to the antisocial behaviour by some non-berth holders and associated excessive noise and security concerns.

Customer satisfaction survey

We organise an annual customer satisfaction survey which gives berth holders the opportunity to tell us what investments they would like to see at the marina. The feedback helps us to decide where improvements can be made.

We have made significant improvements to the marina that benefit berth holders and enhance customer experience including replacing the pontoons around the island area, installing Wi-Fi as well as new amenities including showers, toilets, Elsan disposal and laundry.

Chandlery

We introduced a chandlery at Lee Valley Marina, Stanstead Abbotts, and saw an opportunity to extend this operation to this part of the waterway, which is poorly serviced. With the expiry of the licence for the bar area held by Springlea Cruising Club, the space there became the most practical choice.

We are working with the committee of Springlea Cruising Club to identify a suitable alternative space and are in discussion concerning a short term licence for the bar area to ensure continuity of provision whilst a suitable solution is found.
