THE Ouse is closed at Linton Lock due to a hole appearing by the side of the lock—This is the Yorkshire Ouse, not to be confused with the River Great Ouse.
The hole requires to be filled with clay, which is now being sourced, Keith Gudgin tells us.
Health and safety
Though the hole is not in the actual lock, health and safety rules means the lock has to be closed to navigation as a boater could harm him/herself working the lock.
Linton Lock is on the river above York.
