MANCHESTER firefighters are warning people to take extra care around the city's waterways after another person was found floating in the Rochdale Canal.

The 51 years old woman was pulled from the waterway at Saturday at Ancoats, described as 'blue and unresponsive' Alan Tilbury tells us.

Show signs of life

However, paramedics, who had been called, worked on the woman and she began to show signs of life and was then taken to hospital.

A spokesman for the fire service stated that this kind of occurrence is happening all too frequently around the Manchester waterways, and warned people to take more care, explaining:

"This type of incident has proved all too common in the centre of Manchester. Canals are dangerous and many people who fall in suffer cold water shock and never get out again."
