Start on the 'hole' repair

THE day after narrowboatworld (Still looking into the hole) stated that silence still surrounded  Canal & River Trust's closure of the Trent & Mersey Canal at Dutton, an update was eventually published.

It stated that an access has been built to the site and a start has been made to the repair, though exactly what this is is not revealed.

Exposing problem area

However the Trust update states that 'in the next couple of weeks we will be exposing the problem area and making sure that we have found all of the areas that need repair, and then starting that'.

It is hoping for completion in time for Easter.
