More boat break-ins

THE spate of break-ins of narrowboats still continues, but this time along the Grand Union Canal.

Two narrowboats moored at Kilby Bridge on the Leicester Section were broken into, both entered by breaking of the hatch lock, with various items stolen including electrical equipment.

Safe mooring

Kilby Bridge is used by many boaters to moor before either tackling or leaving Leicester, and is considered a safe mooring.  However houses and flats have been constructed near to the moorings, and there are now more people walking along the canal.

A narrowboat moored by Woughton Park at Milton Keynes was also broken into with thieves stealing amongst other things a television, DVD player and DVD's, Alan Tilbury tells us.
