Last Summer we hired from Oxford Narrowboats, Lower Heyford for a week. We made the trip up to Cropredy and back.

I cannot fault their excellent handover. The mile or so cruise up to the first lock and lift-bridge were excellent.

We were however unimpressed during the evening at Aynho, where there were moored boats on both sides of the canal.

A privately-owned narrowboat (whether syndicate or private, I do not know) decided to 'drive on the left' to the horror of not only ourselves, but also established moorers, all if whom shouted at the steerer to get into a correct position.

Fortunately, no harm was done.
