I have just read Christopher Smith's email, and am wondering what this Meldrew-like character has against live aboards?

Two points, one being comments like this will inflame the already present hostility between live aboards and the (usually well to do, end of garden mooring for £100 grand washer josher, IWA member type) leisure boater.

Point two, everyone has to have a mailing address so he would have one hell of a job proving who lives where!

Why do live aboard boaters need sorting out if they are paying for a mooring? Are the canals reserved solely for holiday makers and leisure boats now?

As to the IWA, I would like to remind these people that it is only a boat club with no authority or standing, and definitely no place in the rule making process. Therefore it's opinion is irrelevant outside of it's own membership.
