Canal search for missing man

THE search for the man who went missing in Blackburn has now progressed to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, with specialist equipment now being brought in.

Police divers using sonar equipment were scouring the canal yesterday (Thursday) at Whiteley Bridge in Blackburn searching for David Young who has been missing for nearly two weeks, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Vicinity of bridge

It was suspected he was in the vicinity of the bridge when he left home to go shopping on 17th October, so the canal was searched both sides  of the bridge.

Over 50 people have been involved in searching the town, so the canal was the natural choice for further searching.
