New Inn closed again

THE New Inn at Long Buckby Wharf is closed once again—the second time in a few months.

Boater Graham Ashton tells us the pub is a favourite haunt amongst boaters, especially as it view is of the nearby lock and its awkward gates, providing entertainment from novices that it catches unawares, as well as its good beer and food.

Not enough trade

The pub is situated on the A5, but does not seem to catch enough trade from either the boaters or the motorists, being re-opened with new tenants, only to close again.

Graham hopes that is will not end up like many others—being sold off as residence only.
