Wi-Fi for museum

IN THIS age of the internet, more and more Wi-Fi is being made available, with the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port now boasting of the facility.

The newly installed system means that both visitors to the museum and people using the conference centre will be able to access the internet on their phones, computers and tablets.

Museum café

Wi-Fi is available in the museum café, which is located just off the M53 motorway and is ideal for a quick stop or a longer lunch, with General Manager John Inch explaining:

"Our new wireless internet access is another step on our improvement of facilities for our visitors.   Visitors will now be able to show their families how much fun the museum is by sharing photos, and people will be able to drop into the café for a coffee and to catch up on their emails, and our conferences delegates will be able to access the internet during their presentations."

The new Wi-Fi facilities were fitted as part of a project which has seen the museum create a media suite of computers and other equipment which school, youth and community groups will be able to use to gain valuable creative experience. The project was made possible by generous donors including broadcasting company SIS and Canal & River Trust Chairman, Tony Hales.
