'Corrie' cuts canal scene

VIEWERS will not be seeing the scene where a body is being pulled out of the Rochdale Nine, as it has been cut.

It was thought that this, and other scenes, were too similar to the recent drowning in the waterway.

The soap was to include scenes of a body on the waterway in a plot involving Peter Barlow, played by actor Chris Gascoyn.

And though the scenes were filmed weeks ago, those concerning the drowning have been scrapped, and no reference is made to where the body was discovered.
