Maureen's funeral by boat

THE funeral service for Maureen Shaw, the friend and helper of many boaters through Wardle Lock will take place this Friday 30th March.

And for the last time she will be at her much loved cottage, for as many will think fitting as a former working boat lady, her coffin will be loaded onto a boat by the cottage at 9.30am, and taken down through the lock to Town Wharf on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

The service will take place at 11am in Middlewich Parish Church, with the message passed to us that all are invited back to the K bar afterwards.
