A bit rich

IT ALL seems a bit rich [Simon Robbins article Hostility towards organisation candidates] coming from NABO whose candidate, Stephen Peters, is slagging off the non British Marine Federation candidates in the Boating Business constituency on his Blog, writes Graham Phillips.

Boaters have given groups like the IWA, RBOA and NABO a fair crack of the whip, and I think they want to see new, fresh, ideas from all sides when Canal & River Trust finally gets up and running.

Not happy with IWA approach

They are not happy with the approach that The IWA has taken in fielding so many candidates, and certainly are very concerned that some of these organisations have been complicit in calling for Canal & River Trust to be exempt from the Freedom of Information Act.

I, for one, am not going to be a member of a committee that meets twice a year just for the pleasure of taking expenses (in the form of licence money) for a jolly day out without making the necessary headway on the many issues that need to be addressed to make Canal & River Trust work for boaters and not be a cash cow for its administrators.
