Boaters deserting Barby

BOATERS conned by false magazine advertising into accepting moorings at Barby Marina, are deserting when they can find alternative moorings.

 

It is estimated that half of the boats that originally took up the offer of moorings at Barby Moorings, as it is officially named, have left after finding none of the advertised services, but just a pond with piles stuck out of the water.

Residential

It seems even though the marina has no permission for residential moorings, most of those left are living on their boats, but are expected to find alternative moorings once their quarterly payment expires.

The only services are two taps and electricity by a generator that is only run at certain times. The banks are now starting to slip after the rain, but there is still no sign of any jetties being delivered.
