New Long Horse Bridge

AFTER many delays and an undisclosed increase in cost the new Long Horse Bridge is at last spanning the Trent at Derwent Mouth.

This of course replaces the dismantled former concrete bridge, but is further up the river where it narrows. In addition it is also classified as a bridleway, so is somewhat wider than the original.

The original cost was £1.4 millions, with the bridge scheduled to be in place in early August, but it was delayed.
