BOATERS on the extremely popular Llangollen Canal would be well advised to keep a look-out when using the towpath near Trevor in the near future.
For a report shows that British Waterways is providing £648,000 to upgrade five miles of towpath near Trevor as part of a cycle route.
Would be ideal
Denbighshire Council has just completed a study that shows that the Llangollen Canal towpath would be ideal as part of a major cycle route.
A Dee Valley feasibility study identified the section of canal towpath, and that it would only require resurfacing for it to be suitable as a cycle route, with the statement that 'an estimated value of £648,000 for the works was provided by British Waterways which owns and maintains the path'.
