Email: Keeping the status quo

Someone recently asked if anyone had received a reply from their MP re Board salaries on transfer to Trust, or whatever.

Today I received a response to my email from my MP, Alun Cairns MP, in that he forwarded a reply from Richard Benyon MP, Minister for Natural Environment and Fisheries. Quoting one paragraph:

'The level of Directors' pay and remuneration is a matter for BW. Decisions are taken by BW's remuneration committee. The Board has been reviewing Director resources to ensure that the new waterway charity has the right expertise at Director level when it is set up. Once in place, Directors pay and remuneration will be a matter for the charity's trustees'.

One has to assume that little, if anything will change except for a decrease in the workforce (Also mentioned by the Minister) rather than management.
