Coronation Street waterway problems

THE makers of ITV's Coronation Street are concerned that filming at its new studios that have been built near Salford Quays, could be interrupted by the noise from the nearby waterway.

It is not so much any sound of boats, but the high pitched screeching of the hundreds of waterfowl, such as ducks, geese and gulls. (But surely not swans as reported!)

Relocated

The now famous street is to be relocated  to new purpose-built studios at Trafford Wharf right by the waterway, so could be affected by the noise.

However, the company admits it has no solution at hand, for whilst filming of an outdoor shot can be halted for a while whilst a plane goes over, the birds give no warning of their noise.
