Reversed too far

A DRIVER reversed too far down a slip-way with his boat on a trailer, with the towing vehicle hanging over the edge.

Rouan Haarhoff, was reversing his trailer down the slip-way near Jesus Lock on the Cam but lost control with the trailer jack knifing and his Toyota 4x4 hanging over  the side of the concrete edge, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Jumped into river

He had no alternative but to leap out of his vehicle into the river as the loaded trailer was pushing the vehicle further and further down.

Cambridge firefighters attended the incident, that happened during last week-end, and used a winch to retrieve the vehicle.
