Narrowboat on fire again

Published: Thursday, 27 May 2010

FOR the second time in less than a week a narrowboat has been on fire on the Grand Union Canal.

It was last Friday evening that the fire service was called out to a blaze in a narrowboat moored at Two Waters in Hemel Hempstead, but the fire was recorded as being accidental, Alan Tilbury tells us.

A write-off

But in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 27th) the boat was on fire again, but this time much worse, with the boat burning from end to end, and now considered a write-off.

It took fire fighters two hours to quell the blaze of the uninhabited boat, but now a more thorough investigation is being undertaken.
