Park and float

AFTER the success of its Park and Float scheme last year, Doncaster Council this weekend started it again with the boat Wyre Lady.

The authority is running its Park and Float scheme through some of the borough's best known beauty spots along the Don From the town centre to Sprotbrough and the heart of the Don Gorge.

British Waterways and the Don Gorge Strategic Partnership, of which Doncaster Council is a member, run the scheme, which will operate every Sunday throughout the summer until September.

The first trip starts from the Doncaster Town Lock at 12.30pm and will arrive at Sprotbrough at 1.15pm. There is also the chance to stay on board and travel up to Conisbrough.  The last departure from Sprotbrough will be at 3.45pm.

The boat has a fully licensed bar and a maximum capacity of 70 people. Free vehicle parking is available.
