THE WIGAN FLIGHT on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal has reopened.
It having been closed since 7th September, Keith Gudgin reports.
This was due to a detached cill at Lock 69, but now repaired and the navigation reopened.
On the 20th of August it was stated the work would have been expected to take one week.
However, further problems must have been met as it was only reopened yesterday, Friday, 11th September, nearly three weeks later.
Montgomery Canal
The Montgomery Canal had been closed at Welshpool Lock together with Belan and Pool Quay locks, by lack of water.
Welshpool Lock is being reopened today, Friday to navigation but Belan and Pool Quay Locks will remain locked and sealed to allow the filling of pounds.
