THE BROADS AUTHORITY has announced that four boats have been destroyed by fire.
This occurred in the early hours of yesterday, Friday, Roger Fox reports.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of up to four vessels ablaze Broads Edge Marina on the Ant.
The blaze closing all navigation on the river.
Fire crews sent out
The Fire and Rescue Service told it received a call at 07:10 and sent crews from various stations with the fire out by 9.30.
The East of England Ambulance Service and East Anglian Air Ambulance also attended, with one person taken to hospital and two requiring treatment at the scene.
Later in the day the river was reopened but boaters at the marina were advised to take care around the booms around the burnt boats.
