THERE IS A WIDE BEAM BOAT that has been overstaying in Berkhamsted for nine months.
It is by the Crystal Palace pub in the town on the Grand Union Canal.
People are complaining of the current lack of enforcement of the rules of Canal & River in allowing this boat to be permanently overstaying on this mooring that has a limited stay.
Permanent noise
One local told us that with the current warm weather their presence has become untenable but the trust seem to refuse to acknowledge the problem of the intrusion of permanent noise inconvenience in a reasonably quiet residential area.
This is worse on weekends and continues well into the night.
