THE DETERIORATION of a footbridge on the Rufford Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal is causing problems to navigation.
As the footbridge is no longer save to use, Keith Gudgin reports.
The footbridge over the navigation somehow stops the offside paddle at Lock 7 being operated by wide beam vessels. This means the lock is restricted to narrowboats only.
Been delayed
The trust tells that unfortunately planned repair works have been delayed, that is due to the required resources being used on another priority job.
Is is expected that information on the repair to the footbridge will be sometime later this month.
