DURING THE DRY SUMER LAST YEAR the Erewash Canal was amongst the first to be closed by lack of water.
And it seems it is happening again, Keith Gudgin reports.
For the second stoppage through lack of water has closed the navigation again, this time between Long Eaton Lock 61 and Dockholme Lock 62.
Low water levels
Our being told that due to low water levels the trust had to temporarily close the Erewash Canal between these locks.
The trust asking boaters not to navigate this section of the canal whilst levels recover.
