IT WAS WAY BACK ON January 17th that Burghfield Lock 103 on the Kennet & Avon was closed our being told this was caused by impact damage to the bottom gates, but no repairs undertaken.
It will not be repaired this month either, Keith Gudgin reports.
Canal & River Trust telling—it is unlikely that Burghfield Lock 103 will reopen before the end of April.
It adding—we are currently awaiting the completed repair design, which will then be passed to our contractor so they can confirm costs and timescales.
Repair strategy
Yet back in January the trust told that engineers will assess and work out a repair strategy.
No reason has been given for the long delay in the completion of the required repairs, with the navigation having eventually been closed for around six months.
