IT WAS EXPECTED TO BE on long job when notice of the broken cill on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal was found.
This usually being the case with broken cills, but the one on Lock 29W on the 'Narrow' was repaired rather quickly, Keith Gudgin reports.
In four days in fact.
Started Tuesday
The work was started on Tuesday 17th March and repaired by yesterday, 20th March.
Perhaps because contractors were not involved, but the local team, we are told...
A boater reported that the lock gate would not closed enough to get the water level, so the lock was of course inoperable.
