QUICKLY TAKING OVER FROM BOTH Streethay Engineering and Midland Chandlers comes a new business for Mercia Marina with familiar faces.
It's a new chapter for on-site marine services, as familiar faces Vera and Jonny Johnson (pictured) launch Johnson’s Chandlery & Marine Services Ltd at the marina.
Already known
Many within the Mercia community will already know Vera and John well. Vera has been boating since 2010 and, together with Jonny, lives aboard Alcor, their beautifully converted 72ft working boat here at Mercia—an historic vessel believed to be one of those once crewed by the historic 'Idle Women'.
Vera previously spent five years with Midland Chandlers before successfully running her own chandlery business for three years.
Jonny brings years of hands-on experience as a marina engineer, developing a strong reputation for practical skill and reliability.
Following the departure of the current workshop operator and decision of Midland Chandlers’ International owner to move to online selling only, the marina approached Vera and Jonny to offer a chandlery in the workshop as well as running the workshop services and operating the dry dock.
Open in time for Easter
They are aiming to open in time for Easter and look forward to welcoming customers soon. In addition, a revised dry dock calendar will be introduced with five-day slots to offer more drying and setting time.
Further updates on opening dates and booking arrangements will follow soon.
