IT WAS ON FRIDAY of last week that a man was seen struggling in the Nene at Northampton.
With an extensive search taking place after he disappeared, Janet Friend reports.
The man was last seen struggling in the river at Northampton Marina off Victoria Promenade in the evening of last Friday evening the 20th.
Taking many days
Then searches of the river and its banks were made taking many days, with the river cordoned-off stopping navigation.
Specialist teams from Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue together with volunteers from Northamptonshire Search and Rescue all involved.
Eventually underwater thermal imaging equipment was brought in and detected the body of the missing man.
