YESTERDAY SAW TWO LOCK REPAIRS completed and navigation reopened.
These were on the Llangollen and Leeds & Liverpool canals, Keith Gudgin reports.
Navigation is now fully open following the successful repair works at Wrenbury Frith Bridge on the Llangollen Canal.
This was closed owing to a damaged handle mechanism.
Leeds & Liverpool Canal
The Leeds & Liverpool Canal suffered a snapped collar on a gate at Lock 61 that closed the navigation as the gate could not be worked.
This too was repaired yesterday, Wednesday, with the navigation now restored.
Both repairs were quickly completed.
