THE COLD WEATHER has had its effect on the waterways with a number of locks frozen.

And the Hurleston Flight locks 1 to 4 is one example of them with the Llangollen Canal suffering even more problems.

The trust tells the flight is inoperable and so navigation is prevented.

Diverted

The lack of water caused by its breach is also causing problems of low water supply to the flight, with water being diverted to the Hurleston Reservoir.

Navigation in the pound above is also closed, again through low levels of water.

When the water flow increases and the locks defrost, the section should be reopened.
