TWO BROKEN BRIDGES have been repaired and navigations reopened.
Foxton Swing Bridge on the Market Harborough Arm and Shipton Lift Bridge on the Oxford Canal are now both repaired, Keith Gudgin reports.
Foxton Swing Bridge had a fault that closed the navigation, with the fault now attended to and the navigation reopened.
The trust did not state what the fault was.
Oxford Canal
Shipton Lift Bridge (pictured) on the Oxford Canal failed on the 15th December, and we were told it was damaged by vandals knocking it off its mountings!
We understand the delay was due to a crane being needed to secure the bridge back on its mountings.
This has been completed and the lift bridge is now working with the navigation reopened.
