The reservoirs [on summirt pound] still have plenty of water but I have to remind myself that they are much shallower than 50 years ago so capacity is reduced, writes Howard Clarke.

Most of the locks on the Marsworth flight leak so badly a CaRT man turns up every morning to run water before boats can move.

Aylesbury ArmThe Wendover Arm is shallow and closed to navigation. All the work the Wendover Arm Trust put in over the years could come to nought if CaRT don't complete the work required to connect the restored section to the main network.

A lot of work at Wilstone Reservoir reinforcing the banks with steel shuttering still ongoing.

Lots more residential boats than I remember, many overstaying the Continuous Cruiser licence limits. They are a lot more tidy these days though. If they do make a mess, boat maintenance or BBQs they do seem to clear up rather than clear off!

Howard's picture shows the condition of the  Aylesbury Arm and tells all work seems to have stopped and nature fighting back. Such a shame.
