BOATERS HAVE BEEN UNABLE to equalise the water on a Lee Navigation lock.
This means they are unable to open a top gate, Keith Gudgin reports.
The bottom gate is leaking so much the water will not reach the point where the pressure on the top gates slackens enough to be opened.
Close the lock
So Canal & River Trust has no alternative but to close the lock to navigation.
We are told that investigations will be made today, Monday.
This lock is situated just below the junction with the Hertford Union Canal at Hackney Wick.
