FOR MANY MONTHS there has been an attempt to raise £203,000 to purchase a lodge for cancer patients at Mercia Marina.
And after a remarkable attempt by the charity’s contributors and supporters, the lodge has now been opened.
With the actual launch of Hannah’s Hope at Rubus Lodge being a huge success with Hannah Roberts cutting the ribbon on the recovery lodge purchased through all the fundraising at the marina and from other events and activities to provide free holidays for teenage cancer patients.
Battling her own cancer
Determined Hannah Roberts is battling her own life-limiting cancer but has dedicated her time to this massive fundraising project achieving her goal is to raise £203,000 to purchase a lodge at Mercia Marina on the Trent & Mersey Canal. In the picture in Hannah Roberts with her mother Gail.
This lodge will be used as a respite venue—a sanctuary for cancer-stricken teens and young adults under the care of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
