I was chatting to a C&RT volunteer leader recently about facility closures, writes Brian Cavill.
I asked, particularity about the recycling issue.
It turns out that it may not be entirely C&RT's fault! Apparently some of the problem is down to irresponsible boaters (or others) not separating rubbish into the appropriate bins when provided.
I have seen it myself! This results in the waste contractors refusing to collect the bins.
Conclusion! There is often less obvious reasons for problems. While I agree that C&RT have issues, I do think the constant 'bashing' is not always entirely justified, although more transparency on their part would alleviate this.
Some response from a C&RT spokesman on issues raised on this website would also be welcomed!
