THE TWO FAILED paddles on Chorlton Street Lock 86 on the Rochdale Canal have been repaired.

These were the paddles that failed last Friday with the first attempt at repair unsuccessful after the initial investigation.

Successful

The second attempt was successful. 

These locks, known as the Rochdale Nine, had been closed by lack of water, where one was discovered by magnet fishers to have holes in its bottom and leaking.
