AN ANTISOCIAL BLACK SWAN has had to be removed from the Avon at Stratford.
It was 'terrorising' other birds and tourists, Janet Friend reports.
Causing havoc
The swan that was named Reggie by locals, had been causing havoc for nine months so was captured by swan warden Cyril Bennis in Stratford to be re-homed at a centre in Devon.
Reggie' had been disrupting nesting swans, attempted to drown native mute swans and taking offence at tourists.
He was even taking offence at the narrowboats passing on his waters. He was definitely in charge!
Being quite a character, many tell that he will be missed, as Reggie was undoubtedly loved by the locals.
Re homed
Cyril Bennis told he will be re-homed at a centre in Devon and it is the best thing for him as he will have so many mates.
But people in Stratford and its visitors will be very sad.
