TWO BOATS HAVE SUNK and others have been damaged after an explosion.
This took place at Premier Chichester Marina on Wednesday evening.
Fires and their danger
Though this is not canal related, it shows the possibility of fires and their danger.
The cause of the fires is not yet known, only that it took hold very quickly indeed with two boats sinking and others badly fire damaged.
The emergency services attended the blaze at the marina around 9pm after being told of explosions being heard on one of the boats in the marina.
A spokesperson for the rescue team told that the fire then spread to a second boat and a number of others moored on the same pontoon.
Cordon in place
A cordon was put in place while firefighters attempted to control the flames with residents in the marina advised to keep away from the area.
West Sussex Fire Service were also at the scene with multiple appliances.
