It being told that the equipment for its construction is in place.

It was the result of funding for the project that raised £39,000 that made the construction of the lift bridge possible.

Bringing the canal back to life

Derek Lord, planning and technical trustee at Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust, explained:

“This lift bridge represents more than just a crossing—it’s a symbol of the progress we’re making in bringing this canal back to life.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated through the Big Give appeal, helping us to make this lift bridge a reality.

It is recognised there may be some temporary disruption but the trust is working to keep this to a minimum.
