Oh no—not again!

THIS MAY TAKE some believing after all the work over many. many months.

But the Loco Lift Bridge on the Huddersfield Broad Canal has again stopped working!

Failed in November

It was way back on the 7th of November that it originally failed, and was still out of action in December, January, February and late March—over four months.

And what incompetence it was to get it working again, as time and time again it was related that the stoppage was owing to first its motor being the fault, but it wasn't, as it came back as being perfectly sound!

Then those contractors told it was the clutch, so off they went to Germany to source one, and neither did that solve the problem!

So it was decided it was the electronics, but alas it was not the electronics either!

So come December it was admitted they did not know what the fault was, and after that, until in March we were told that they were still waiting parts.

Repaired on the 15th March

Then on the 19th March is was repaired and re-opened for boat passage.

But now we are told it is currently not working, but the team will attend to site tomorrow to investigate what repairs are needed.  

We can only hope that this team has more knowledge than the last one!
