THERE HAVE BEEN three waterway closures over the last couple of days.

WolverhamptonTopLockThe Wolverhampton Flight, (pictured) the Rufford Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool and the Kennet & Avon, Keith Gudgin reports.

The Top Lock 27 of the Wolverhampton Flight linking Wolverhampton with the Staffs & Worcester is currently closed.  The top end gate has  a suspected failure of the heel post.

A team will be attending the site to assess the situation and develop a repair plan.

Leeds & Liverpool

Navigation is closed at Lock 2 on the Rufford Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. This is due to a blockage in the paddle mechanism of the lock.

The team was on site and attempted to carry out repairs, but alas, they were not successful, but repair plans are currently being developed.

Kennet & Avon

Woolhampton Swing Bridge 31 on the Kennet And Avon is out of action, but this time caused by a vehicle, but not told in what respect.

But the team are on site reviewing the situation.

Still on the Kennet & Avon, Bath Top Lock 13 has had its paddle rod repaired and the navigation is now open.
