Something is amiss
THERE IS DEFINITELY something amiss with the time it takes for repairs to ground paddle frames, writes Barry Fowkes.
We were told that the The Northampton Arm off the Grand Union was closed on Monday owing to a side ground paddle frame on Lock 9 breaking away from the chamber wall. The damage was assessed and then completed and the navigation opened yesterday (Wednesday). So it took just two days to repair.
Leeds & Liverpool
Then on the 5th February it was reported that there was a broken paddle frame on the Leeds & Liverpool between Stegneck Lock and Bank Newton Bottom Lock, the actual lock not being reported as you stated.
Then on the 29th March you told it was still not repaired after two months. But strangely nothing since!
So just two days to repair a frame on the week of the start of the new season yet two months or more for another.
Can anyone make sense of that?
