Oh no, not another breach? This time on the Macc, writes Michael Daine.

I thought the Bridgewater was devastating and now this. Another example of how badly the canal system is 'run'.

Someone said it was 'a once in a lifetime experience' to witness such an event.

Seen it twice

I've seen it twice now. I was around to see the damage at Dunham as a young man and the length of time it took to repair and the arguments that followed.

Eventually enough pressure was put on the powers that be to restore the Cheshire Ring as it was a vital link. 'It don't mean a thing if you can't do the Ring'.

With this terrible event on the Macc. I wonder it folk will ever be able to do it again? I'll get me shovel!
