Improving Fazeley Marina

SINCE TAKING over Fazeley Marina last August the Rothen Group has made many improvements at the marina.

As the group already had the contract to maintain it, it was ideally situated to take over, Janet Friend reports.

The group is owned by husband and wife team, Ian and Charlotte Rothen, whose core business is maintenance work across the waterways such as dredging, piling together with maintaining canal banks, towpaths, bridges, etc.

Jetties

At Fazeley Marina, on the junction of the Coventry and Fazeley & Birmingham canals, the new work includes work on the jetties to make them more secure as a quick fix, with the intention of carrying out full jetty replacement over the summer months.

Other work has been undertaken on the 70 berths marina with better car parking and there is the facility for short term living on the boats.

The service block now has washing and drying facilities in addition to the services already provided.
