Boaters stuck at Anderton Boat Lift

THOUGH it was told Anderton Boat Lift was to open after repairs on the 24th January, it has not.

It was on Sunday 5th January that Anderton Boat Lift was closed due to a broken river gate.

Our being told that this was discovered during a planned inspection undertaken in preparation for boats to use the lift on that day, but on further inspection it was discovered that it was both gates that were broken and 'teams are assessing repairs'.

Boaters stuck

These repairs were estimated to take until  Friday (of course) 24th January. But now the 7th of February with, a boater who is stuck waiting to go up the lift, telling it is still not repaired. Others too are stuck waiting to both ascend and descend.

 But as it is a Friday, perhaps the contractors will have completed the repair, with perhaps the work finished and the boaters able to use the lift.
