Residential moorings for the Broads

SOMERLEYTON Estate on the Broads is seeking permission for residential mooring on a remote part of the Broads.

It is seeking permission from the Broads Authority to undertake the work for 15 residential moorings, Keith Gudgin reports.

These will be on a remote part of the Broads on the Waveney between St Olaves and Oulton Broads the latter that is run by the Somerleyton Estate.

Upgraded

In addition to the moorings the plans also include the pontoons and parking area being upgraded.

At present the area consists of leisure moorings and a long-established boatyard business. It is stated that the residential moorings will bring more life to the marina.     Image by Nick Butcher.

The southern rivers of the Broads are somewhat remote and do not attract many pleasure craft.
